We have set our company up under our framework of the ‘Mutual Prosperity Triangle’. The idea behind which is that we all do well together, you, us and the community in which we reside. Our new blog section - In Good Company - will focus on what we have been up to, what you have been up to and how together we have helped the local community.
Juggling Mind and Money
In October we reached our 50th episode! “Please god, no more!” I hear you shout!

When we started Juggling Mind & Money, we thought we were creating a podcast about finances and psychology. Fifty episodes later, we've realised it's really about being human. The most popular conversations haven't been about tax rates, fund performance or pension rules. They've been about fear, anxiety, relationships, identity and the stories we tell ourselves about money.
We have also had some great guests on the show. Some people that are famous in the world of money management or psychology, other members of our fabulous team and also our some of our clients.
What do you want to hear?
Is there anyone you would like us to get as a guest of the show?
Would you like to be on it? Telling the world about your experiences with us! Or about money story that you have that you want to get off your chest?
Below are some highlighted episodes we recommend you listen to.
But, if you’ve never listened or watched us on YouTube, then maybe check out our compilation episode of all our deeper wisdom!

Variety Night
We rounded off our year of events with our Variety Night. We really wanted to celebrate the diversity of ideas our clients have for what to do with the short amount of time we have left on this planet. You may also notice we bought branded T-shirts!

Obviously, you will mainly remember our two Noel’s – Joe and Jamie - doing ‘Deal or No Deal’ for us, with guest Mandy going away really happy she didn’t win a yoga session or any other physical activity, and instead won the ‘Lucent Notepad and Pen’. This was meant to be the booby prize, but except for a chocolate making course was actually her preference!

Ben Hanlin, celebrity and magician, amazed us with Rubik’s cubes (well really, it was Sue that did it!), matched random stopwatch times to serial numbers on banknotes (did you get that £20 back Colin?!), card tricks, and guessing which film my brother was thinking of (I got this about 5 minutes quicker!!). He also talked of how he decided what he wanted to do with his life:

This is a great model for how we should live. Doing things that make you money, without having the passion for it will make you… miserable.
As many of you are in retirement you may want to replace the 3rd circle as you don’t need money any more and you know it (because we tell you!). Instead this should be replaced with ‘purpose’ - what’s yours? Is it helping others, like family or charity? Or spreading a message you feel other people really need to know? Or helping a certain project? We have clients that are ‘rangers’ and help maintain an area of natural beauty. Others that make it their aim to do fantastic feats, like walking on hot coals and parachute jumps etc.

Then, in similar vein, Hazel Carter, our adventurer in chief, really drilled down on how she has tried to enjoy life as much as possible despite the death of her husband Alan, and donating a kidney to her brother. Her purpose is now to raise thousands of pounds for MND charities. she’s written a book called “Life’s good, it’s the disease that’s the problem” and is now trying to make it into a film where George Clooney is her co-star!

Plus, she exhibited what must be the worlds best collection of commemorative T-shirts.
Her message was simple; time is short, use it!
Ben rounded off his act by asking us all to write a message to ourselves. What, in the next 6 months, would you love to achieve that would make a massive difference to our lives and would be something you were proud of that you would look back on with warm fuzzy feelings of achievement!
What were yours?

He then asked us to put our name and address on, and we will post them out in early April as a little reminder to yourself: if you haven't already, do that thing.
As a poignant reminder of all of the above, here’s a video I urge you to watch. Perhaps, once a week? It brings together all we talked about on Thursday night.
Until next time, enjoy yourselves, it's later than you think.
