Walk & Talk Details:
October’s Mrs History walk is a journey through Olton in Solihull, from the station up to Olton Friary. We will take in key buildings and sites that trace Olton's history from its earliest roots, right up to the present day. Expect surprises, hidden histories, and as usual a few places you've probably walked past a hundred times without knowing their stories.
Walking is on pavements and paths, with one or two areas of grass. There are a number of road crossings on busy roads.
We will not be covering huge distances on this walk but have packed in so many places worth stopping, it will run a little longer than our usual walks, with a finish time of around 12.45. Toilets are available at St Margaret’s Church, around 40 minutes into the walk.
Parking is available at the station car park opposite the station, and for 3 hours maximum at the Olton Shoppers Short Stay car park at the end of Station Drive and around the streets close-by.
We plan to finish for refreshments at the Happy Heart Cafe on Richmond Road.

Important: Please make sure you wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather. Please keep dogs on a lead whenever appropriate, including when passing livestock, other walkers, or busy areas.
There are limited public toilets available; a payable one outside the Jewellery Quarter Car Park on Vyse Street and toilets for people arriving at Snow Hill Station. The JQ station ones are not open.
